What is JetZero?

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring ​an Accounting Manager. You will ensure execution of the accounting operations of the company including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processes.

What You'll Do

Documentation – Establish and maintain an accounting system of procedures and guidelines to follow.  Implement controls to minimize risk. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Analysis – Analyze general ledger variances and suggest corrective action for management's approval to meet annual accounting financial objectives.
Reporting – Produce required reports and ensure they meet accounting guidelines and principles (GAAP). Produce monthly and annual reporting of Financial Statements ensuring on time closing of accounting periods.
Team Coordination - Oversee external and internal accounting and tax support. Collaborate with auditors and provide needed information as requested. 

Day to day activities will include:

  • Manage all aspects of general ledger including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Oversee and assist with Payroll Taxes, Certified and Government Payroll Forms
  • Verify the accuracy of all job costs as well as the reconciliation of all subledgers to the general ledger (A/P, A/R, cash management, equipment, payroll)
  • Develop actionable insights from technical and financial data, working to minimize risk and identify growth Cash flow management including forecasting cash flow needs.
  • Monitor and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk and identify areas of opportunity to better safeguard assets.
  • Debt management and collection.
  • Create projections with different scenarios on the growth opportunities as needed and develop accounting policies, guideline, and procedures.
  • Manage and perform other duties consistent with the roll of accounting professional

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required
  • Ten years of related experience is required, experience in high-rate manufacturing or startup industry experience preferred
  • CPA required, audit and publicly traded company experience highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, experience with IFRS or EU GAAP preferred
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines
  • A valuable record of improving financial results
  • Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines, strong preference for start-up experience 
  • Experience with software tools such as QBO, financial planning - a plus.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
