Propulsion Performance Engineer

Long Beach, CA

What is JetZero?

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended-wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

The JetZero team

We are experienced aerospace professionals and engineers excited about the future. That future will only be possible if we share our vision and what it means to people’s lives: carbon-free flight that's better for both passengers and carriers.

This is why we’re hiring a Propulsion Performance Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting the definition of requirements for propulsion, auxiliary power, nacelle, and Engine Build-Up. Aircraft Engine Performance Modeling – You will analyze the performance of installed engines using NPSS, conduct engine/airframe integration trades, and support tests to enable and inform air-vehicle system studies in conceptual and preliminary design programs.

Safety and Certification – You will assist in developing specifications for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements. You will also assist in performing certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components. You will help develop FHA, SSA reports, Test Proposals, Test Results, certification plans, and Issue Papers.

Modeling and Simulation – You will use various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance. You will also execute aero-thermo models of propulsion systems to aid in vehicle design and evaluation.

Product Support – You will support fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.

Product Innovation – You will support the development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
